According to the new initiative, they wanted to create a new brand separate from woodworking and build the Crafters Europe online store. The goal of the project was to create a unique, youth-oriented webshop showcasing quality products for all age groups. In this case study, we'll delve into the challenges of the project and the solutions that enabled our client to establish an effective and successful online presence.
The main challenge was to efficiently import over 4000 products from various partners' export files into the system.
To achieve this, we designed templates where partners' products could be arranged column by column, allowing for the processing of differently formatted data files with minimal configuration.
By data files, we mean not only product information, but also images, descriptions, and properties associated with the products. This approach saved a significant amount of time and energy for our client. If required, automated product synchronization can also be implemented based on predefined conditions. During product entry, multiple options are available for customizable product management, including product name, description, price, stock, dimensions, properties, and related items. The centralized media library was also developed to ensure easy accessibility of uploaded images and files throughout the website.
The webshop interface has been made fast, modern, and responsive in order to achieve a fresh look.
The e-commerce platform supports multiple languages, allowing for easy introduction of additional languages through a translation management module.
We have integrated online card payment (SimplePay), custom transfer, and cash-on-delivery payment options into the system. However, cash-on-delivery purchases are available only to registered users, thus encouraging user registrations. The order management is transparent and efficient. With individual order status handling, the client can tailor the entire order process to their own processing system, ensuring that users are continuously informed of status changes. User management is secure, and the administration panel provides easy handling of customer's personal, billing, and shipping address details.
Finally, we have integrated the Billingo invoicing system into the online store through an API connection. This allows invoices to be automatically generated based on orders. According to a regulation introduced at the end of 2023, the government requires webshops to offer the logistics services of Magyar Posta to their customers, so both GLS and MPL courier services have been included in the order and backend processes, along with custom price ranges for delivery fee management. As per the upcoming legislation, the specified fee for delivery using MPL courier service can be easily set.
Upon completion of the project, our client received a well-functioning and user-friendly online e-commerce platform that facilitated efficient product management, fast and secure shopping, and flexible adaptation to our client's needs.
