Sound familiar?

These are the situations people come to us with

  • The website has not changed in years, and it shows.
  • It loads slowly on mobile, is hard to navigate, and visitors leave quickly.
  • Nobody has updated the system or its plugins for a long time, and you do not know how secure it is.
  • You have slipped in Google, and you do not appear in AI search answers at all.
  • You do not know whether your website meets accessibility requirements.

Not every website needs to be rebuilt. We recommend what genuinely pays off for your business.

What we modernise

What do we fix on an outdated website?

  • Design and user experience

    A contemporary, mobile-first look that fits your brand and helps visitors find what they are looking for quickly.

  • Speed and Core Web Vitals

    Less unnecessary code, optimised images, a fast server. The site loads in moments, on mobile too.

  • Preserving your search rankings

    We inventory every old URL and write a redirect plan, paying close attention to keeping your existing Google traffic after the switch.

  • Accessibility

    Development that follows the WCAG 2.2 AA requirements, with a conformance review on request: a site you can navigate by keyboard, with readable contrast and a screen-reader-friendly structure.

  • Security and maintainability

    An updated, supported system instead of vulnerable old versions, which can be maintained safely after go-live too.

Typical situations

When is it worth modernising?

  • A company website untouched for years

    • Starting point: an old, custom PHP site that nobody dares to change any more.
    • Solution: a new, maintainable foundation, migrated content and URLs, an editing interface.

    What to expect The site can be developed again, and your team can edit it themselves.

  • A slow WordPress or Joomla site full of plugins

    • Starting point: many conflicting plugins, slow loading, missed updates.
    • Solution: removing unnecessary plugins, speed optimisation, an update or a migration.

    What to expect A faster, more secure site with fewer surprises at update time.

  • A site-builder website you have outgrown

    • Starting point: the platform's limits prevent extensions, and it does not perform well in search.
    • Solution: a move to your own system, a search-friendly structure, structured data.

    What to expect A freely extensible website you can shape to your own needs.

Which path?

Quick fix, gradual modernisation or relaunch?

We decide together which path is right after the assessment. If a quick fix is enough, we will tell you.

  • A quick fix, if:

    • the structure of the site is fine, it is just slow or looks outdated;
    • accessibility or security gaps need to be closed urgently;
    • the system is still supported and can be updated.

    In short A noticeable improvement soon, on your existing system.

  • Gradual modernisation, if:

    • the site is large and cannot go offline all at once;
    • you would rather spread the cost over several phases;
    • you want to improve the pages that bring the most traffic first.

    In short We move phase by phase, with measurable results: a controlled, phased delivery reduces the risks.

  • A full relaunch, if:

    • the system is no longer supported or cannot be updated safely;
    • your business has changed, and the website has not kept up;
    • fixing it would cost more than a new foundation.

    In short A new website that is sustainable in the long run, with close attention to preserving your rankings.

AI search

Is your website ready for AI-driven search?

Search habits are changing. More and more people rely on artificial intelligence when looking for service providers, products or business partners. Modernising a website is therefore no longer only about its look and speed, but also about making your business findable and understandable for AI-driven search systems.

  • AI visibility assessment

    We examine how far your business and your services appear in relevant AI-driven search answers.

  • Technical and content preparation

    We shape the structure and content of the website so that search systems can process and interpret it more easily.

  • Ongoing measurement and optimisation

    After the modernisation you can keep track of your AI visibility, and the results help us identify further development opportunities.

    You get An itemised quote and a schedule.

  4. Implementation

    We work in a test environment while the old site keeps running undisturbed.

    You get Regular status reports and access to the test site.

  5. Switchover

    You get A prepared go-live, with search traffic monitored throughout.

  6. Follow-up

    After go-live we monitor search traffic and error reports, and fix anything quickly if needed.

    You get A before-and-after comparison.

Why us

What you can count on

  • No attachment to a technology

    We recommend what is right for your website, even if that means keeping the existing system.

  • Verified data migration

    We migrate content, images, forms and submitted data in a verified way, minimising the risk of data loss.

  • Minimal disruption

    The old site stays live until the new one is ready, and we plan the switchover with the least possible service interruption.

  • Measurable results

    We measure speed, accessibility and search visibility both before and after the modernisation.

  • Fixed-price quote

    An itemised quote with no hidden costs. We also spell out what it does not include; anything added later is agreed separately, in advance.

  • The source code is yours

    We hand over the code we write, you pay no licence fee for it, and you can continue with another developer. The exact terms of use are set out in the contract.

Modernisation projects we have worked on

We do not only show what we built: for each case we describe what the renewed website brought the client.

  • Retail · fishing webshop

    Haldorádó

    A frontend and UI refresh for one of Hungary’s largest fishing webshops. Both shoppers and the company’s internal processes rely on the site, so we had to combine custom and proven solutions.

    Result A renewed interface for a high-traffic webshop that works for customers and for the company’s internal workflows.

Frequently asked questions about website modernisation

Can't find the answer?

Write to us or call us, and we will answer your question.

  • We pay close attention to preserving your rankings. We inventory every old URL and send it to the right new page with a 301 redirect. After go-live we monitor traffic in Search Console, and if we see a drop anywhere, we fix it quickly. Because of how search engines work, temporary fluctuation can occur, so we plan the switchover to keep it as small as possible.

  • It depends on the chosen path and the size of the website. We give you an exact schedule after the assessment, tailored to a quick fix, gradual modernisation or a relaunch.

  • No. We work in a test environment, and the old site stays live until the new one is ready. We plan the switchover with the least possible service interruption and schedule it for a time that affects the fewest visitors.

  • Since 28 June 2025, the European Accessibility Act (EAA) has made it mandatory for some consumer-facing digital services, such as webshops. Microenterprises are exempt in certain cases. We check whether it applies to you during the assessment. Either way, an accessible website reaches more visitors.

  • No. If your existing system is supported and can be updated properly, we keep it and fix only what is holding the website back.

  • We migrate the texts, images, blog posts and form data with a verified migration, minimising the risk of data loss. We take a backup before the switchover and check the result together with you before go-live.

  • No, nobody can guarantee that: AI systems decide for themselves which sources they quote. What we do commit to: we assess how your business currently appears in relevant AI answers, shape the structure and content of the website so that search systems can process it easily, and keep measuring your AI visibility after the modernisation.

  • You are not left on your own. If you wish, after go-live we take care of secure operation, regular updates and technical monitoring under an operations contract, with hosting provided by W5host. We also measure speed, search and AI visibility, and propose further improvements based on the results. You can read more about operation on our Support page.
